Austrian Winter Peas : Winter peas are planted as a annual forage crop, cover crop ( to control erosion, as a weed suppression and for adding organic matter to the soil as a green manure, peas are a modest nitrogen-fixer for the vegetable garden. ) Austrian winter peas are a low-growing, vine legume with a fix of 70 - 125 pounds of nitrogen per acre per year. Pods are 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch. long with dark colored seed. In warm areas the peas matures in early April attracting beneficial insects to the growing area. Winter peas like a PH of 5.5 to 6.5 and can grow in a wide range of soils, but they don't do well in wet swampy areas. Austrian winter peas are great for planting food plots for deer. These peas are cold weather tolerant and provides excellent foliage for wildlife. Excellent forage for fall-planted hunting plots.

Seeding Rate : Drill 25 to 30 lb. per acre
Broadcast 50 to 120 lb. per acre
Food plot rate 50 lb. per acre or 2 lb. per 1000 sq ft.
Cover crop 1 lb. per 500 sq ft.
