Giant Red Habanero-(Capsicum chinense)-The Giant Red Habanero pepper is the red variant of the Giant Chocolate habanero. As many of you know red is the recessive gene in brown types and vice versa. So red can appear anytime in a brown or chocolate variety. So don’t be surprised if you see brown appear in the Giant Red habanero. The flavor of the Giant Red habanero is much fruitier than the Giant Chocolate but the heat is close to the same which is at the upper spectrum of the habanero types. The peppers like the Chocolate are huge and larger than an xtra large chicken egg! The Giant Red habanero Chile plants grow over 4 feet tall and are very productive. The chiles are great for adding to fresh salsa or hot sauce.
