Poblano Pepper Plant : Heirloom Mild chile pepper originating in the State of Puebla, Mexico. Dried it is called an ancho chile (meaning "wide" in Spanish), often ground into a powder used for flavoring recipes. Fruit is 3" to 6" long and about 2" wide. Fruit is dark purplish green in color but eventually turns a red so dark as to be nearly black. Most popular peppers grown in Mexico. Plant grows about 24" tall. Used in sauces, salsas, and stuffing mixes.
