Mint Ginger : Mentha x gracilis veriegata A perennial herb that comes from a cross between corn mint and spearmint. Variegated leaves are light green with bright yellow stripes that run through the leaves. Plant grows to a height of 1 to 2 ft. high and produces small, pale purple flowers which bloom along the main stern, rather than at the end of the stalk like other mints. Also known as slender mint and Scotch mint .

Culinary Uses : Mint is used in teas, beverages, jellies, syrups, ice creams, confections, chutneys.
Medicinal Uses : Mint contains Vitamin C and Vitamin A and a cup of fresh mint tea has been known as an herbal remedy to many cultures for many generations. Mint was originally used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains. During the middle ages, powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth.
Other Uses : Scented leaves are a useful addition to pot pourris. Mint oil is also used as an environmentally-friendly insecticide for its ability to kill some common pests like wasps, hornets, ants and cockroaches.
